Summer is over now, but it’s just another excuse to light up the gloomy days with an expedition. As a newbie, it is common to travel a bit – to visit family and friends back home AND we also have family and friends come to visit us. Yay! But even though the actual visits are nice, it can be totally stressful to organize it all. That's why we created a short guide on how to plan a trip in, from och to Sweden. Have a look at some of the essential travel websites for newbies

When you travel in Sweden you’ll see that Sweden has all sorts of places to discover – starting with rocky cliffs at the south, through mountain trekking at the north and beautiful cities all over the country to end up with. It’s also well-connected with other countries and offers direct flights to many places all over the world.

We all know that Sweden is not the cheapest country to live in. But budget traveling here is possible, especially if you’re planning on travel in Sweden with the right tips and tricks.

Traveling by buss

VY Bus4You* (formerly Nettbuss) – A great option if you want to travel in Sweden or between Sweden, Norway and Denmark. They offer travel by buss in a safe, comfortable, cheap and sustainable way. A great choice when you have a lower budget and/or want to travel in a more environmentally friendly way. They have information in English, Swedish and Norwegian.

And they currently have a discount for our newbie readers. You get 7% discount if you write the code NEWBIE7 when you make your booking.

Places to stay

Internhome* – Looking for a holiday house to rent? Either for your visitors or for your vacation abroad? Interhome* can help you with that. You find and book vacation homes online. It’s also a great source of holiday tips and top destinations. Their webpage is also in Swedish so amp up your translation tool of choice.

Radisson Hotels* – For those who don’t want to do their own dishes or cleaning, a hotel may be the answer 🙂 The Radisson Hotels Chain* has hotels all over Sweden (and other countries too of course) and are currently offering a “best online rate guarantee” which means they will match any lower rate you have found AND give you a 25% discount on your stay. A comfortable stay makes your travel in Sweden even more enjoyable.

Hotel Specials* – is another option with hotel stays all over. Make sure you visit their deals page for the latest deals.

HosteslsClub – Not everyone can stay in hotels which is why hostels were invented. At HostelsClub* you can find hostels pretty much everywhere. Just pick the place, if you want a private room or be social in a dorm and go ahead and book. They have some nice blog posts to check out as well.

Getting around by car

AutoEurope* – if you don’t like to travel by buss, there is always the road trip option, with music, friends and stops along the way, a great way to travel in Sweden. One car rental site to check out is AutoEurope*. They’ll connect you with the biggest brands in car hire, like Hertz, Avis, Budget och Europcar. Their website is in Swedish. Driving gives you more freedom during your travel in Sweden.
